For the first time North Andover High is hosting The New England Scholastic Band Association Marching Band Competition (NESBA)
Where: North Andover High School
When: Saturday October 16, 2010 6pm
Why are we so excited? This is a huge opportunity for North Andover to showcase the amazing musical talent ofour North Andover students, and an extraordinary opportunity to develop a long standing funding source for our music department. Have you been to a band show? This is the most fun a band can stand – and we just gotta share!
AND WE NEED YOU! In order to host a successful competition (and to be invited to host again) we need to begin organizing now, and we need many volunteers. This is going be great folks, and we are planning on being the “poster” school on how to run an amazing show.
We currently have a core group of leaders and lots of opportunities for you to get in the game.
Please put on your volunteer hat and join us for a kick off NESBA Information and Planning Meeting – all interested should attend to learn more.
July 27, 7pm @ North Andover Senior Center
Please let me know you will be joining us:

The NAHS chorus has been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall as part of the 2011 National Youth Choir on April 3, 2011. This invitation was extended to NAHS chorus because of their high scoring performance at the April 2010 music competition in Philadelphia; any group who scored a gold medal rating was invited to perform at Carnegie. There will be a public performance, families and community members can make arrangements to attend.
The senior chorus members of 2010 are invited to join in on this trip. They are invited to come back to NAHS during winter break and practice the assigned music and then can join the group at Carnegie.
The trip will run Friday – Monday. Students will sing in an East Coast Honors Chorus, will participate in workshops, and will work with world-famous conductors. Preliminary plans are that the trip will include a Broadway show, tour of Ellis Island, tour of the city, and students will stay in hotel in Midtown, NY. More details will be posted here as they become available. Congrats to all!!!
