Ms. Carroll is going with Rotarians from many clubs in Massachusetts to the mountainous region of Costa Rica, a town called Nicoya, Guanacaste area – District 4240 for Rotary purposes. They are working with the local Costa Rican Rotary club to build a children’s play area in a park and help the local school district by bringing school supplies. While she is there, Ms. Carroll hopes to help interpret for the group and set up letter writing exchanges for some of our Spanish students at NAHS. The trip will be in mid January and last for 11 days. “I like the recorder idea because I play flute and I know how music transcends all borders, emotional, physical and international, ” says Ms. Carroll.
