John Baylies accepted into BYSO

On Tuba for the BYSO…. John Baylies!

Tuba player John Baylies of North Andover High, was accepted into the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra which is Boston Youth Orchestra’s most advanced ensemble. He will join 100 other outstanding musicians in the BYSO on Aug 12th, for two weeks at the New England Music Camp (NEMC) in Sidney, Maine.  During the 08/09 year the orchestra will be performing several concerts at Boston’s Symphony Hall, Sanders Theatre at Harvard University, Jordan Hall at New England Conservatory and the Church of the Covenant on Newbury Street.  John is the Tuba section leader for the High School Marching Band. Congrats John!!

Spartans get 3rd place in annual “Fiesta de Musica”

North Anodver High students Allie Vanbuskirk, Kenny Poore and Josh Lamm participated in the annual ”Fiesta de Musica” Sunday night and placed third out of 7 teams for the Spartans, of Nashua, who were representing the Granite State. This regional drum corps competition was performed at Memorial High School’s Clem Lemire Stadium. Check out this video of their competion. Congratulations to all!
