UMass Band Director George Parks dies

September 17, 2010

Sad to report that UMass Band Director George Parks passed away last night after a performance in Ohio. The marching band was on its way to perform   at halftime of Saturday’s UMass-Michigan football game in Ann Arbor.  Here he is at Band Day a few years ago when the North Andover high school  marching band joined in with 3,000 band members for the largest half time show  ever. Band members have reported that they still plan on making the trip to the UMass Michigan game.
