Band & chorus concert draws crowd

North Andover – More than 250 parents, students and friends braved heavy rains and flooded streets to attend the summer-themed North Andover High School Winter Concert the day before Valentine’s Day last week. Their reward was a lively and varied evening of performances by the Symphonic Band, Flute Choir, Chorus, Percussion Ensemble and Honors Band, with Lee Beatty directing. more….

Musicians at North Andover Youth Center happy to play the blues

NORTH ANDOVER — Five music students bowed their heads over trumpets, saxophones and a keyboard, tapping their feet and focusing on the sounds of Miles Davis’ “Freddi Freeloader” coming from a laptop.
Then it was their turn. They took up their instruments and began to play, first together then passing solos down the line. ….more
